Various book design I worked on whilst at Ladybird Books during 1989-1991

First Facts About series
The illustrations were drawn by commissioned freelancers from layout ideas myself and a co-worker did. Cover design, logo and typography and general book layout was my input. Originally I had drawn the First Facts logo as a magnifying glass, but it was considered "too fussy" so I removed the handle.

Cover and inside layout/design. Images assembled using stills from the film.

Cover and inside layout/design using commissioned illustration, archive illustration, (hand tinted by myself), my own illustrations and supplied photographs.

Fun with Numbers series
Prior to me working on this series, the four titles all had different illustrators and different cover designs. I was asked to redraw the covers, bringing together the four styles featured inside each book. The idea was to give the series a uniformed look.
The images on the far right were support/promotional material for various book series.
