Radio Freedom was a radio station which broadcast in Derby under an RSL (Restricted Service Licence). The style of programming and the business approach was similar to the Radio Caroline era of broadcasting. The station had the feel of a pirate radio set up, (which was where the station had its roots).
The logo was styled loosely on a BBC World Service retro feel, with the man very loosely based on a mix of Alan Freeman and Frank Sinatra. The idea being that this was "old school" broadcasting with a maverick flavour to it.
